Patterns were a way for the clit to slip by undetected and thus avoid censorship

I had the opportunity to make new work for a solo exhibition when most of my physical pieces were in another show. The site offered me a chance to begin making murals with patterns and layered forms. Patterns were a way for the clit to slip by undetected and thus avoid censorship.  I created this decorative damask with the clit form and laser etched clit forms on wood in collaboration with Sarah Strauss.  Suspended from the ceiling is “Formless.” I’m interested in the force of the small and the multiple, this reduced subject coming together en-masse to create something new.
