I wanted to reach an audience beyond the art world, so I started putting pieces up on the street. I don’t consider myself a street artist but I began working there for the same reasons as many graffiti artists: I wanted to communicate as broadly as possible. Again, like with the 100 Natural Laws exhibition, people took notice of the texts, often posting them on social media where they took on a life of their own. That’s how I knew they were having an effect, and that they were needed. Moving CLITERACY to the street emboldened me to explore new ways the project could take shape in the world.
